our job, spouse, children, tests, school, money, weight, etc. It seems so
natural to keep worrying about something or someone because we are
concerned about the outcome of the situations.
We feel like we need to do or say something to help things be better, but sometimes that makes things worse. Why is it that we think so much about
what we don't want instead of what we do want? All day long we will keep
thinking about it and then we end up with what we don't want.
If you think over and over about what you don't want, and you get it, then why
not think over and over about what you do want and get that? It seems so easy
to think about what you don't want, but that's only because that's what you are
used to. The more you do something, the easier it gets.
We go into details about why we don't want something, so go into details about
why you do want something to be a certain way. You'll find that one feels way better than the other. Take things one moment or day at a time. Sometimes things work themselves out if we would just leave them alone. Leave the past in the past if
it makes you feel bad, and leave the future in the future if it makes you feel bad.
The past and the future do not exist ever. The past has already happened
and the future hasn't happened yet. All you have is this very moment right now
(Matthew 6:34). Think about it! A lion doesn't think about what he is going to eat
on Monday if it is Friday. The lion will only think about what it needs right now and keep it moving. We need to be the same way. All you have is right now. Live in it. Take your eyes off of what you don't want concerning something or someone and
start to take more notice of what you do want concerning something or someone.
