keys we use more often than others. There are shops we can go to so
that we can duplicate keys in case they get lost or in case we need extra.
Some keys are big and some are small. There are keys that open only
one specific thing and then there are keys that can open more than
First of all, the definition of the word key is a means of gaining or
preventing entrance, possession, or control. So let's look at life and
the keys that we choose to use to either open or close doors in our
lives. There are two little keys and one big key that can have a big
impact on our lives.
Any three of these keys can sustain, empower, or absolutely destroy
friendships, relationships, marriages or families. Whatever key you
decide to use is up to you. God has given you many keys to use in your
life, but He has also given you the power to choose your keys. You have
to take responsibility for the keys that you choose to carry around with
you. So that means don't blame God for the keys that you have chosen.
The two small keys are anger and pride. The big key is wisdom. As you
may have guessed, the big key is the master key. What does a master
key do? Open and shut any door you would like. When we are angry, we
do things that we would never do in a peaceful state of mind. We don't
think when we are angry and we just want to hurt someone. Some have
killed out of anger whether they believed it to be intentional or not.
The root cause of anger is fear. Think about the last time you were angry.
You were scared that something either would or wouldn't happen so you got
angry. When you are stuck in traffic you get angry because you don't want to
be late for work. People get angry when they fear that their partner is cheating
on them. People get angry when they can't find a job out of fear of not being
able to provide for their family. Worrying about something can lead to anger
also. Fear is the root of anger.
The root cause of pride is vanity. These are the people that you just can't
tell anything to. They know everything and they think that they are everything.
In other words they are so conceited. They think they are perfect and don't
need to change anything about themselves ever. They have a very high
opinion of themselves. This is a key that will cause an unemployed person
to pass up government assistance to feed their family because they don't
want anyone to think that they need it. Those with too much pride are
basically putting up an image.
The root cause of wisdom is GOD! James 1:5 states If any of you lack wisdom,
let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it
shall be given him. Verse six goes on to say that we should ask using our
faith and not doubt(James 1:6). Wisdom is the master key that you can access
to reverse any key that has turned your life upside down. Although everything
that happens in life can't be fixed, the way that you react to things can.
Sometimes it's not what happened that cause the most problems. It can be
what you do or say after something bad has happened that can actually
make things better or worse.
We can't control everything that happens in life, but with even just a little
wisdom we will know what is best to say or be done and what is best
not to say or be done at the time that the situation occurs. If we can't seem
to make a decision right then and there, then we have got to have enough
wisdom to just walk away or think about it some more. The definition of
wisdom is good sense: judgment. So, pride prevents entrance, anger
can possess you, and wisdom gives you control.
