past, present or future. We habitually think of what we are going to do
instead of what we are doing. during the week we think about what we
will do on the weekend. Then there are the times when we are
disappointed because things didn't go well the day prior. We keep
playing it over and over again in our head until we start feeling bad.
Even those future plans can make us anxious. If we are not looking
forward to an occasion or event we keep thinking about it and then
make ourselves feel miserable. (Proverbs 27:1) But, it isn't always
bad. There are times when thinking about the past and the future can
make us feel good, excited, and even empower us. The most important
thing is how we make ourselves feel the majority of the time.
So, quite a few of us believe that there is a past, present, and future,
but the truth is only one of those exists. The past has already happened
it doesn't exist anymore. The future hasn't happened yet, so, the future
doesn't exist either. The only one that exist right now, in this very moment,
is the present. If the present is the moment that is real, then why do we
like to re-visit the past and think about the future more than just being
content with and making the best of the present moment that we are in.
In the present moment try to notice and acknowledge all the good around
you. You will feel good and notice things you had never noticed before. The
more you practice this, the more you will be at peace with where you are.
You have to be at peace with where you currently are in order to get to where
you want to be. The more you complain about where you are right now, and
the worst you feel about it, the more negativity you welcome to yourself.
Isn't it funny that when you give up on something, the moment you give up
the answer or what you needed just comes easily. It's because the negativity created resistance which kept the answer away. Once you stop trying to hold
your ground on why things should be your way, the resistance leaves and then
the answer comes.
Try to see and acknowledge what is still good in whatever situation that you
are currently in. Beating yourself up, being mad, impatient or negative is just
going to delay what you need. Trust God enough to know that when the time
is right, the answer will be there.
