make us give up and quit right before we accomplish what we are trying
to do. Although we go through it often, we still can't seem to control
how we really feel about it. To some, it can be a painful process to
This thing that I speak of is called WAITING. When we are waiting on God
to come through, all kinds of thoughts enter our minds. We start thinking
He has left us or He hates us and just don't want us to be happy. All kinds
of negative words start to fill our mouths.
Why is it that, no matter how many times God has come through for us, we
still act crazy when we have to wait on Him? We feel like He needs to come through by a certain time or day so that we don't lose what we have. Most of
the time (not all the time) we are in these situations because WE positioned ourselves there.
Perhaps, waiting on God is so hard for some people because they are
Wrestling Against Internal Thoughts Instead of Noticing God. When you
focus on God during your time of waiting, you really don't have time for
doubt or for being impatient because you will be too focused on Him.
When you surround yourself with the things of God during your time of
waiting, God will give you the strength that only He can give for you to hold
on and not give up (Isaiah 40:31). So, that does not mean watch television
all day to take your mind off of things. Try reading your bible, praying,
fellowship or praise and worship. Those types of activities will help feed
your spirit so that you can stay strong.
