whenever we broke something we tried to hide it, cover it up, or blame
someone else. When we don't want people to know what we are doing
the first thing we do is hide it.
We feel that what we are doing may cause problems for us or hurt the
ones we love. Let's not forget the teenage years. Teenagers try to keep
drinking, smoking, drugs and sexual activities from their parents. Being
arrested, car accidents, and teenage pregnancies have all uncovered
the hidden activities of teenagers.
Then there are the adults. They hide affairs and fornication. Some people
get excitement from these kinds of things. There has even been times
where people were committing adultery while their spouses were right
next door to them. They actually think that it is fun because they are so
close to them and the other spouse is not aware of the adultery that is
People feel that when they do things in secret, they are helping or even
protecting the people that they say they love from being hurt. In actuality,
what they are really trying to do is find a way to protect what they are doing
so they can continue to do whatever it is they are doing.
Everyone does stupid things that they wish they had not done, but it is a
totally different thing when you do things intentionally and you feel you can
get away with it. In reality, everything that is done in secret will always be
brought into the light.
God has made that promise to you with Luke 12:2. "For there is nothing
covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known."
So, for every little thing done in darkness, it will be brought into the light.
Maybe not soon, but definitely later.
