For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed
all judgment unto the Son (John 5:22). The Pharisees
were constantly trying to accuse Jesus of doing
something wrong. They harassed him about healing
a crippled man on the Sabbath (Matthew 12:9-14).
Jesus cast a demon out of a man that couldn't see or
talk. The Pharisees accused him of healing the man by
the power of the ruler of demons (Matthew 12:22-24).
And when accusations were brought against him by the
chief priests and elders, he answered nothing
(Matthew 26:59, 27:12).
Jesus Endured much:
Jesus had to endure being mocked, spit on, whipped
repeatedly and nailed to a cross by Pilate's soldiers
There was those that passed by and made comments about
Jesus saving others, but not being able to save himself
Jesus Sacrificed himself:
In Gethsemane, Jesus fist prays to God stating
"O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from
me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt"
Jesus could have stopped his death at anytime, if He really
wanted to, with just one prayer to God (Matthew 26:53). Even
though he felt much sorrow about the situation that was to
take place (Matthew 26:38), he knew it had to be done. He
kept asking God if there was any other way, but he never
refused to let God's will be done either.
Jesus Understood his purpose:
16) And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought
up: and as his custom was, he went into the synagogue
on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17) And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet
Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place
where it was written,
18) THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE HATH
ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR; HE
HATH SENT ME TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED, TO PREACH
DELIVERANCE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERING OF
SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET AT LIBERTY THEM THAT
19) TO PREACH THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE
20) And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the
minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that
were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21) And he began to say unto them, This day is this
scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Jesus Saved us all:
Jesus was painfully abused, but he did not complain.
He was wounded and crushed because of our sins; by taking
our punishment, he made us completely well.
We had each gone our own way, but the Lord gave him
the punishment we deserved. Although Jesus was innocent,
his death made us no longer guilty. He suffered for our
sins and asked God to forgive us (Isaiah 53:1-12).
