around it. No matter where you go or what time of day, you will probably see
a least one person. Although there are times when we wish we were the only
ones at the grocery store or on the freeway, where would our lives be without
the company of others? Some of us have a few friends and some of us have
many friends. Either way, can you imagine your life without family or friends?
Throughout our lives there will be friends that come and go, but there seems
to always be at least one that is loyal. They seem to understand you better
than anyone else. If they make you angry, you can't stay angry with them for
long. You look out for each other and help each other out when needed. If it
is so nice to have a friend here on earth, then imagine how much more
wonderful it would be to have God as your friend.
The difference between your friends and God is that God hears all, sees all,
and knows all. God knows all your secrets, strengths, weaknesses, and still
loves you just the way you are. You don't have to worry about God breaking
any promises, being late, forgetting about you, hurting you feelings, breaking
your trust, or leaving you for someone else.
A good solid friendship with God is an amazing experience. When you have a
good friendship with God, you can think a prayer and it will get answered. He
will take care of you. He will strategically put things in place so that things will
work out for the best for you. The answer to a problem will show up before
the problem comes into existence. God knows what you don't know, He sees
what you don't see, He hears what you don't hear. That's a wonderful friend.
To have that friendship, you have got to change the way you associate with
God. If you want out of the ordinary miracles, you have got to do out of the
ordinary things. Talk to God just like you would as if someone was sitting
next to you. Sit in a room where nothing can disturb you. Ask God to work
on you. Ask Him to put whatever He needs to put in you and take out
of you whatever He needs to take out of you. After you say this, sit in total
silence for as long as you need to.
Another thing that is important is to fast even if it is from morning until the
sun goes down. When you fast you are making your flesh take a back seat
to your spirit. When you spirit is able to proceed before your flesh, you are
putting yourself in a position to see, know, and sometimes even hear
what you could not have before when your flesh was in control. Your spirit
opens you up to having a better understanding of how God thinks and
a better understanding of His ways. That same understanding will cause
you to have increased faith and inner peace.
Let's not forget reading your Bible so that you renew your faith and that your
spirit is being fed so that you will have sustaining power when the enemy
wants to run all over you. The most important thing to remember is to just
talk to God. If you feel God was unfair to you, then tell Him. Don't just tell
Him how you think He was unfair, but tell Him why you feel that way.
God is not going to strike you down or not answer your prayers because
you told Him how you felt.
Don't be afraid to talk to God. People think that you can only pray to God for
things that you want and that's it. Change the way you think! In order to
have friends, you have to communicate with them. You tell them how your
day was, about your children, about your spouse, about your job, but why
can't we do the same when it comes to God. Just like your spouse wants to
hear "I love you" every now and then, even though they know it, God would
like to hear about your day and everything about you (even though He knows
it). It's a way of saying I appreciate you. Communicating is how you build a
