in our lives. Some of us have had the same fears for years. Fear
can get so bad that isolation becomes a form of comfort.
When we fear things, we make ourselves a slave to whatever it is
we are fearing. That fear controls where we go, what we do, and
what we say. We are basically being controlled by something that
we can't even see.
When we push past our fears and take control, lots of times we
realize that there was really nothing to fear in the first place. It will
feel like a heavy burden has been lifted. You will feel like you have
To show fear is to show weakness. When you are weak (2 Corinthians
12:9), you are lacking strength. You have to acknowledge your fears
and try to face them. Your fears will not just go away. They will come
back at some point in your life (usually the worst time).
Facing fears is a must if you have a relationship with God. If you fear
anything, you better believe that God is going to put you in a situation
where you will have to deal with your fear. It doesn't matter if you think
you are ready or not.
If you struggle with conquering your fears, God will cause you to face
them over and over until you conquer them. God is not going to just let
you let yourself be controlled by fear. When God gave us the Holy Spirit,
He gave us power (2 Timothy 1:7).
