Sacrifice

Whether we like it or not, life is about giving and receiving. We give our time
to a job in order to receive a paycheck. We give our paycheck to receive
other things and services in return. Although, some products and services
are free, most have to be paid for before we can use them.

I guess you could say that life is about sacrificing. Everything in life
requires some kind of sacrifice. A promotion on your job requires more
time and responsibility, but more money. Owning a home is great, but
when something needs fixing, you have to hire someone to perform the
repairs or do it yourself. Driving a car gets you where you need to go, but
you have to deal with the maintenance that goes along with driving one.

We sacrifice time with our children because we need to make more money
to pay the bills. Some of us have to make sacrifices when it is beyond our
control. When our parents become ill or unable to take care of themselves,
how many of us would actually sacrifice our lives to take care of them?

There are parents that are sacrificing their lives to raise their children's
children. What would you do if a burden was put on you that required
you to sacrifice all your time and money?  You can worship every week
and pay your tithes faithfully, but how we treat each other means a lot to
God. God made the ultimate sacrifice in order to save many lives. Who
are we to think that we shouldn't have to sacrifice ever, even if it
is a small sacrifice?

Life kind of goes around like a circle. What you do comes back  around to you.
If you know of a family that is without food and you have more than enough,
there is nothing wrong with sharing with them. Who knows, sooner or later you
may need their help with something else. If you are not willing to sacrifice then
no one else will sacrifice for you when you really need it. Don't ever think that
you will never be in a situation of great need.

We give, we receive, we lose, and we gain. Sacrificing is a big part of our lives,
but God made it that way so that we would remain humble. He doesn't want us
to be greedy and selfish, but He does want us to appreciate the things and
the people that we have amongst us. In other words, He tried to keep from
spoiling us, because He loves us so much!
